About

Raised in Miami (FL) and a University of Florida alum, I conducted research in polymer chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Austin M. Evans. Here, I explored the electrospinning of vinyl polymers at the upper limit of molecular weight. This project cultivated an appreciation for chemical instrumentation, where, heavily inspired by Prof. Charles R. Martin, I decided to pursue my Ph. D. in analytical electrochemistry. In the Baker group, I specialize in probing metal nanocrystal catalysts via SECCM.

Research Area

One short paragraph describing what you study and why it matters. I am leveraging the high spatial resolution of Scanning Electrochemical Cell Microscopy (SECCM) to study electrochemical reactions at individual particles. Traditionally, electrochemical reactions are studied in bulk, where individual particle signals are averaged out. By confining the electrochemical reaction to individual particles, relationships between particle structure and reactivity are determined. Understanding electrochemical reactions at this scale enables rational design of electrocatalysts.
